I didn't even know what a bucket list was until I wrote one myself 25 years ago, It wasn't very long and the things that weren't all totally unobtainable or ridiculous but still quite out of reach for a 10 year old from York.
I've lived in a few places Tenerife, Holland, Greece and currently Switzerland. I've always had this "pull" to go to Australia and I was once told by a palm reader in Greece that if I went to Australia I wouldn't come back. Hoping that she doesn't mean I get lost or I've found my way inside a belly of a flamin croc (I'm practising my Ozzie)(Michelle would be proud) not that I'm planning to stay there, but never say never...
I have the same reoccurring dream too (cue puke sound from my brother..) I have 2 kids a Great Dane a pick up truck and I'm always pulling into my house which happens to be on the beach..I'm also stick thin, I suppose there has to be some kind of unrealisticness in it..So whatever it means I'm going there and whatever happens happens!
One of the first things I completed on the list was to learn how to snowboard. In 2001 not only did I learn how to snowboard I also eventually became an instructor.
I also managed to complete two things two years ago in Bali one was becoming an open water licensed scuba diver and the other one I obtained while diving, I swam with a black tipped reef shark!
Since I can remember I've always wanted to go to Australia, seeing
that its one of the last things on my bucket list it only seems right I
should go now! I created this blog so that people can keep up with me on
my travels up the east coast of Australia.
I will
leave on 16 February 2013 from Zurich fly to Heathrow-Singapore-Melbourne and I will travel for two months
up the East Coast to Cairns passing through Tokyo for five days where I
hope I can eat lots of sushi and see some sumo wrestlers. yay! win!
xx Jode.
